FTTH may be an option on the future. Obviously I needed a 2- or 3-WAN router device to do the connection management. I had a preference for a dual-WAN router that isn’t tied to any particular communication technology (like ADSL, or VDSL) to give a degree of future-proofing for new technologies like FTTH.

Gateway here only specifies that the router is the gateway to all internet from its LAN which means it defines 0.0.0.0 as entire IP segment to go out on its WAN interface and undergo NAT. It will not also respond to incoming routing requests (static, RIP etc.) into its WAN port. A customer has a TL-ER6120 and he connects 3 computers to the LAN side of TL-ER6120 with IP address 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.4, all computers are routed to Internet by dual WAN ports, he plan to set policy routing rules for 2 computers which use 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3, make WAN1 for web surfing, WAN2 for other Internet activities, in FTTH may be an option on the future.
